In snagit, its such a cumbersome effect, that I copy things from snagit into photoshop and create my own effects. I use Photoshop a lot, and use Photoshop's dropshadow layer style, or, I create my own drop shadows from scratch. This is a flaw that resulted from people asking for lots of options and TechSmith folks making it default instead of optional. In the 2019 version I started to save favorites to avoid all the default sets, but now, each time I want to use a font, I have to fiddle with the settings. I paid (regretfully) for Snagit 2019, and it has the favorite option, but since I had problems with that version, I'm back to snagit 2018 and don't have the favorite choice. So, that is my point, let the user decide what is to be used instead of having defaults that you have to undo. I sometimes get confused by the difference between "Outline" and "fill", they seem to do the same thing.

However, now that we are on the subject, this outline feature seems to have been created as a default instead of optional default. Had I been here during people's requests for some features, I doubt I'd have objected, the more options the better. I've been using Snagit for a few years, and only in the past year or so have been actively reading this forum.
